Dublin: Ireland’s average mortgage rate dropped to 3.72% in April, down from 3.77% in March — marking the third consecutive monthly decline and the lowest level in two years, according to the Central Bank. Despite the drop, Ireland still holds the fifth-highest rate in the eurozone, where the average is 3.34%.
Deposit interest rates also declined, with fixed-term household deposit rates falling from 2.26% to 1.95%, reflecting pressure from recent ECB rate cuts.
Experts advise borrowers to explore competitive offers, with rates below 3% currently available. Mortgage brokers stress the importance of market-based advice to secure the best terms.
