Dublin: Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien, announced that over 40,000 new homes are expected to be delivered this year during the ‘Accelerate 2024: What’s Next?’ conference at Dublin Royal Convention Centre.

The event, attended by over 400 delegates, focused on solutions for future housing delivery. Panellists from key sectors, including Declan Dunne (Respond) and Paul Sheridan (CIF), stressed the need for increased investment and coordinated action to address infrastructure challenges and meet housing targets.

A second panel explored financing strategies to meet ambitious targets, with discussions highlighting the importance of a stable environment for attracting international investment. O’Brien emphasised the success of the “Housing for All” initiative but acknowledged the need to further scale up housing delivery across social, affordable, and private sectors.
