Minister for Health launches an innovative online Health System Performance Assessment (HSPA) platform
The Minister of Health launched an innovative new online visual health data monitoring tool designed to offer an overview of the health service’s performance and health outcomes. The Prototype visualisation Platform for the Health System Performance Assessment (HSPA) Framework, operated by the Department of Health in collaboration with the Health Service Executive (HSE), will assist policymakers, healthcare providers, researchers, and patients in better assessing and improving system accountability, fairness, and efficiency as we progress towards universal healthcare for all.
The new HSPA website contains health statistics on life expectancy, illness outcomes, health risk factors such as smoking and obesity, access to health services, affordability, the quality of treatment offered, and the efficiency of health services.
The HSPA will provide the public with a clearer picture of how the health service is performing and a better understanding of the impact of health policies on people’s lives, allowing them to become better informed about the nation’s health as well as important issues central to the provision of health services in Ireland.
