Popular air fryer recalled in Ireland

An urgent recall has been issued for a popular air fryer that can be purchased online in Ireland.

After establishing that the SilverCrest S-18 Oilless Air Fryer posed a fire danger, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued a notice.

“A safety issue with the SilverCrest S-18 Oilless Air Fryer has been identified,” a spokeswoman stated. The product poses a fire danger. The fuse in the product does not fulfil the criteria of the applicable standard.

“This means the fuse can fail, causing the plug to overheat or ignite.”

People in Ireland may have purchased the product on eBay; however, it is unknown how many were purchased. The model number of the concerned SilverCrest air fryer is S-18.

The CCPC advised what to do if you have the product: “If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and discard the product.”

“You should contact the eBay seller to see if there are any possible solutions.” This may be done using your eBay user account.”
