President Michael D. Higgins in Excellent Health, Confirms Official Sources

Dublin: President Michael D. Higgins of Ireland, who was hospitalised yesterday due to illness, remains in stable condition as he continues to receive medical care. The 82-year-old president was admitted to the hospital yesterday evening after experiencing discomfort.

President Higgins underwent an initial assessment at Aras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President. Further medical evaluation necessitated his transfer to the hospital, where he has remained overnight. Sources from Aras an Uachtaráin have confirmed that there is no cause for alarm regarding his health, with all test results indicating positivity. The President is reportedly in good spirits and receiving excellent care from the medical staff, for which he has expressed gratitude.

Despite his hospitalisation, President Higgins fulfilled official duties prior to his admission. Notably, he presented the 2024 Volta Award to British film director Steve McQueen at the Dublin International Film Festival. Additionally, he engaged in a telephone conversation with Vietnam’s Foreign Minister, Bui Thanh Son.

Furthermore, the President met with Peter Pellegrini, the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, along with other parliamentary representatives who visited Aras an Uachtaráin.

As President Higgins continues his recovery in hospital, his official responsibilities are being managed with diligence, and updates on his health are being provided to the public.
