Russia’s immigration bomb to destroy Europe… Italy blames Wagner for illegal immigration

Rome: It appears that an influx of immigrants to Europe is planned. Recently, the arrival of illegal immigrants from African countries to European countries that support Ukraine has increased significantly. There are claims that this is part of Russia’s plan to destroy these countries. Countries including Italy are alleging that Wagner, who supports Russia, is filling these immigrant bombs. The Wagner Group, also known as PMC Wagner, is a paramilitary organisation in Russia. It is a private military company with a network of secret mercenaries, and the group has been described as the de facto private army of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Wagner is accused of working in countries such as Libya, Mali, and the Central African Republic. They also led Russia’s invasion of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.

Italy accused Russia’s Wagner of being behind the arrival of migrant boats in the Central Mediterranean. 20,000 migrants have arrived in Italy this year alone. It was only 6,100 in the same period in 2022. According to the defence minister, this is putting a lot of pressure on the government.

Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said that Wagner is deploying a hybrid war strategy of systematically evacuating migrants from African shores. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani also expressed concern about the Wagner group’s involvement.

Defence Minister Crosetto is a senior leader of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing Brothers of Italy party. In light of the increasing influx of migrants, Italy has asked NATO allies to assist concerned countries.

Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigogine stated that he had no involvement in the migration issue and harshly criticised Italy. He advised that it is enough to look at the affairs of your own country.

Meloni has taken a strong stance against illegal immigration. Last month, Italy’s slow response to the migrant shipwreck off the southern coast of Calabria, which killed 79 people, drew criticism. The allegation was that there was no prompt intervention.

There was also an incident where a boat that left Libya sank off the coast of Italy on Sunday. The charity alarm phone blamed the coastguard for not sending it despite repeated warnings on Saturday that it was in danger.
