Ryanair Introduces €500 Fine for Disruptive Passengers
Dublin: Ryanair has implemented a minimum €500 fine for passengers whose unruly behaviour leads to their removal from a flight. The airline aims to deter disruptive conduct and maintain a comfortable, on-time travel experience for all passengers.
While such incidents are rare, Ryanair emphasised its commitment to passenger and crew safety, stating that it will continue to seek civil damages in addition to the new fine.
The announcement comes as Ryanair reported a 16% drop in after-tax profit for the financial year ending March, down to €1.61 billion, despite a 4% rise in revenue to €13.95 billion and a 9% increase in passenger numbers to 200.2 million. Operating costs grew by 9%, contributing to the profit decline.
