Spain beat England 1-0 to become World Champions
Spain defeated England 1-0 in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 final at the Accor Stadium in Sydney on Sunday. Spanish skipper Olga Carmona’s first-half goal proved crucial as her team maintained their lead. Meanwhile, Lauren Hemp was denied by the woodwork for England in the first half. The victory also helped Spain capture their maiden Women’s World Cup title.
At halftime, Spain’s captain, Olga Carmona, gave Spain a 1-0 lead against England in the final, which proved crucial. Carmona scored in the 29th minute after England lost possession in midfield, and Spain soon countered to win at Stadium Australia.
