Dublin: An orange wind warning has been declared for 16 counties across Ireland in anticipation of the impending arrival of Storm Debbie, set to impact the entire country. The Meteorological Office has issued orange alerts for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Portlaoise, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Galway.
This warning is slated to be in effect from 2 a.m. until noon today. The Meteorological Centre has cautioned that travel disruptions and power outages are possible outcomes. Additionally, a status yellow wind warning covers the entire country, commencing from midnight tonight and extending until 3 p.m. today.
Storm Debi is expected to bring intense storms, heavy rainfall, and thunderstorms, heightening the risk of flooding in localised areas today. Simultaneously, the UK Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry in Northern Ireland, effective from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
