Dublin: Taxi fares will increase by nine percent starting December 1st, following approval by the National Transport Authority (NTA). This adjustment reflects rising operating costs, based on the NTA’s biennial review of maximum taxi fares. Taxi meters will be updated in the coming months to reflect the new rates.
Additionally, the NTA is extending “special rates,” which previously applied during Christmas and New Year’s holidays, to weekend peak hours. These higher fares will now apply year-round from midnight to 4 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings to encourage more drivers to support the nighttime economy.
