Two students from St. Michael’s College, Dublin, who went on holiday in Greece, met a tragic end

Dublin: Two students from St. Michael’s College in Dublin died in a tragic accident while on vacation in Greece. Both died in separate accidents on the rocky Greek island of Ios.

The deceased have been identified as Andrew O’Donnell (18) and Max Wall. They were on holiday with their classmates after completing their Leaving Certificate exams.

Andrew had been reported missing by a friend on Friday morning, and they had met the night before in Hora. The two were separated while returning to their residence on foot.

The body of Andrew O’Donnell was discovered in a rocky field near the island’s main town of Hora around 9.20 a.m. local time on Sunday, according to a spokesman for the Southern Aegean Regional Police Directorate. Although there were signs of a fall on the body, it is unclear whether the fall was from a height.

The police said that Max Wall was found unconscious near the port of the island around 2 p.m.
The spokesman said. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the emergency services were notified, but his life could not be saved.

Both families were provided consular assistance by the Department of External Affairs.

Andrew and Max were the most popular students in school. Teachers and staff have only fond memories of them. Always treated with love and courtesy. These youngsters were ecstatic.

It was difficult for everyone because both of them died while waiting to go to college after the results.

According to the principal, this is the worst tragedy in the college’s history. The principal expressed his condolences on the deaths to both parents and family members.

These are the most heartbreaking events, said Higher Education Minister Simon Harris. Both families have received condolences from the Spiritan Education Trust. The Trust said in a statement that the death of these children is an irreparable loss to the school, family, and community.
