Charter Flight to Repatriate Stranded Irish Citizens from Middle East

Dublin: Up to 280 Irish citizens stranded in the Middle East due to regional airspace closures following US-Israeli strikes on Iran are set to return home on a government-chartered flight from Oman in the coming days. Priority will be given to vulnerable passengers. Minister for Foreign Affairs Helen McEntee described the development as positive and confirmed that further flights are anticipated.

An Emirates flight from Dubai to Dublin is also scheduled to depart this evening with passengers affected by recent cancellations. The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that around 2,000 of the 25,000 registered Irish citizens in the region have requested assistance to leave, with further flights expected.
