OCI Application Fees Revised Based on Euro Rate, Announces Immigration Bureau

New Delhi: The Bureau of Immigration has announced a revision in the application fees for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), linking the updated charges to prevailing euro exchange rates. Applicants may pay the fee either in Indian currency or in local currency, depending on their location.

Revised Fees for Europe

Under the revised structure, applicants in Ireland and across Europe will be required to pay €254 (approximately $275). The new rates came into effect from April 1, 2026, and may vary slightly depending on the country of application.

Fees Within India

For applicants applying within India, the fee remains unchanged at ₹15,000. Payments must be made via demand draft in favour of the Pay and Accounts Officer (Secretariat), Ministry of Home Affairs, payable at New Delhi.

Payment Guidelines for Overseas Applicants

Applicants outside India are required to pay the fee in US dollars or its equivalent in local currency through a demand draft. Authorities have advised applicants to verify the exact payable amount on the website of the respective Indian Mission or Consulate before submission.

Charges for Updates and Reissuance

OCI cardholders seeking to update personal details or reissue their cards will be charged approximately €23 (around $25). This fee also applies to modifications in personal information.

Replacement of Lost Cards

In case of a lost OCI card, applicants will need to pay approximately €95 (around $100) for reissuance.

Timeline for Updating Details

Cardholders are required to update their details within three months of obtaining a new passport. A fee equivalent to $25 in euros will be charged for updates made after this period. The same charge applies to renunciation of the OCI card.
