Ireland will experience much colder and wintry spell ahead, says Met Éireann

DUBLIN: Met Éireann predicted that Ireland will experience a much colder and more winter spell than it had recently.

The weather advisers say the weather be much colder, with sharp to severe frosts, icy stretches and some wintry showers. Strong west and northwest winds are also likely, the advisers said.

From today, the daytime temperature will be at low levels and the night time temperature will be at zero or lower at times.

There’s going to be a combination of sunny/clear spells and showers later this week. Some winter showers are also expected, particularly on Thursday and Friday. Low-level snowfall is also possible by the end of this week, Met Éireann said.

It is known that weather advisory will be in place from 4pm today until late on Friday night.

Frost and ice are expected in many areas during the night. This can lead to difficult road conditions as the snow can persist in some parts late into the morning.
