Aldi to open new store in Co Cork in 2022

Aldi recently confirmed that by 2022, it will open a new store in Clonakilty in Co Cork.  

The company said that they have received the final planning permission for the store at the Waterfront in the town. This new project is expected to create 25 permanent jobs once opened, as well as 80 jobs during the construction phase. 

Aldi already has 23 stores across Cork city and county.

The new store will be having certain features. It will be environmentally-friendly store will be powered by 100% green electricity and will see two free-to-use electric charging points installed outside. 

Over 4,500 people are employed in Aldi and it has a network of 145 stores across the country, with stores in each county in the Republic of Ireland.

Aldi Regional Managing Director, Colin Breslin said that the new Clonakilty store will bring great value to the doorsteps of locals who previously had to travel to shop at Aldi.
