Dubliners panicked by thunderstorms….The southeast region of Ireland was left in darkness

Dublin: Torrential rain, storms, and lightning have wreaked havoc in the southeast of Ireland. Thousands of homes have been left without power. Hundreds of customers in Dublin and Carlow counties are still without power.

The ESB indicated that power outages continued late yesterday in Aldbourne in Dublin and Tullow in Carlow, although power was restored in a few places.

The Met issued a thunderstorm warning in several counties. After decades, strong thunder and lightning terrorised the city of Dublin. The powerful lightning terrified the city’s new generation.

The wind was also quite strong in places. The ESB said that resolving power outages is progressing at a rapid pace.

Power supply updates are available at www.powercheck.ie, and ESB customers should call 1800 372 999 if there is a power outage caused by lightning.
