Filipino nurse in Dublin has been seriously injured in a cruel child gang attack

DUBLIN: A Filipino nurse has been seriously injured in an attack by a cruel Dublin child gang with members as young as 12 years old.

The incident took place in Drimnagh, a suburb of Dublin, just before 8pm on Tuesday night. The 35-year-old frontline worker was attacked by a gang of kids trying to steal her scooter while she was on her way home from work.

The cruel child gang pushed her to the ground and broke her elbow. The nurse, who had completed a 12-hour shift at the Dublin hospital, was deeply traumatised after the attack and is now unable to work in the midst of a pandemic.

“They were roughly between 12-14 years-old, and they tried to steal her scooter. She was pushed to the gutter and she broke her elbow,” the nurse’s partner said.

He praised the Gardai and Emergency Services who arrived at the scene immediately and brought her partner to St. James’s Hospital.

“Her elbow is quite bad, we were just expecting a simple fracture but unfortunately, it turned out that one of her bones was broken into small fragments. She’s still extremely traumatised with what happened and we’re hoping somebody might have some information on the attack,” her partner added.
