Heavy rain expected, Ireland under yellow alert

DUBLIN: The Met Office has issued a weather warning for much of the country today as heavy rain is expected in 17 counties of Ireland.

A status yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thundershowers in 17 counties is in effect for the next 13 hours, beginning at 8 a.m. today and lasting until 9 p.m. tonight.

The warning applies to all counties in Leinster, including Waterford, Tipperary, Leitrim, Cavan, and Monaghan.

Heavy rains fell in various parts of the country on Sunday evening.

Forecasters have said that floods are expected at some places today. Temperatures may reach 21 degrees Celsius.

Chances of heavy rain are also forecasted for tomorrow, particularly in the Leinster region, including Dublin.
