Increase in Covid cases; Strict restrictions have been imposed in the UAE on New Year celebrations

ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced that 1253 more people in the UAE have been released from Covid.

Three new people have died in the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to 660. With the confirmation of Covid positive for 1027 people, the total number of patients is 2,02,863 and the total number of patients cured is 1,79,925, officials said. There are 22,278 people in treatment.

Strict restrictions have been imposed in the UAE on New Year celebrations. Authorities has advised the public to meet safety standards.

It is mandatory to wear a mask and maintain social distance. Gatherings, including family members, are limited to a maximum of 30 people. It was suggested that everyone should wear a mask and maintain social distance.

While the number of Covid victims in the UAE has not decreased, inspections continue in various emirates to find those who violate the standards.

In Dubai, various departments, including the finance department, are conducting inspections. Several violations have already been detected and fined.
