Lola meet its owners after long three years

A dog was reunited with its master after it went missing for more than three years.

Lola is a black Labrador, who went missing from a fenced garden way back in 2017. The dog vanished while Debra and Steve Mejeur, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, were visiting a friend in Illinois.

When the couple returned, they found that their pet was missing. Immediately they stared searching for the dog. They posted notices, went after a professional pet searcher and even contacted volunteers, but nothing went their way.

Meanwhile the authorities in DuPage County, Illinois, received a call last week. The call was from a couple who spotted the missing Lola.

They found the dog within a forest preserve. They gave food to the dog to gain trust. The identity off Lola’s owners was retrieved through a microchip.

Debra Mejeur, one of the owners of the dog said that she thinks she is living a dream after the couple were reunited with Lola at DuPage County Animal Services.

“I still had an ounce of hope, I guess, but the majority of me was thinking she had already crossed the rainbow bridge. I was just completely stunned.” Debra said.
