Research survey found nurses to be the most trusted people in Ireland

Dublin: To the Ireland public, the most trustworthy people are Nurses.

The opinion poll conducted by Ipsos MRBI revealed this proud belief among those who dedicated their lives to healthcare. Research shows that people have more faith in nurses than doctors.

According to the company’s Variety Index 2020, 97% of people choose nursing as one of the most trusted professions. The survey found that 96 percent trust pharmacists and 95 percent trust doctors.

Even though National Public Health Emergency Team (NFET) advises the government on the prevention of corona virus, 91% said they did not trust them as much as they trusted nurses. This is the first time such a question has been asked in a survey.

Pubic have increased faith in senior politicians. Previously it was 27% and now it is 47%.

The credibility of other public politicians has also increased significantly to 10%. When the survey was conducted in December 2018, only 22% of the people believed in politicians. In terms of credibility, politicians are followed by estate agents (30%)!

The credibility of EU leaders rose from 15 percent to 58. Public interest in local councilors, which people trusted more than ministers in the past, has dropped by 5% to 46%.

Fifty-four percent trust ordinary people on the streets more than ministers and councilors. Here too, the credibility is down by seven percent.

The survey, conducted from May 14 to 24, found that Garda was popular among adults. Earlier it was 73% but now it is 82%.

Eighty-three percent of those surveyed believe in weather forecasters. And only 77% believes in television news readers.

People believes in teachers, scientists and judges. Only 17 percent trust advertising executives. Survey says that people do not trust social media either.
