Volkswagen to launch self-driving cars

Volkswagen plans to launch self-driving cars by 2030.

Volkswagen chief executive Herbert Diaz said he expects self-driving cars to be ready for sale between 2025 and 2030.

The company is busy providing the artificial intelligence technology and computer chips needed for self-driving cars. Herbert said AI technology could benefit self-driving cars.

He said in an interview in Germany that technology can predict even the most complex situations of self-driving.

Herbert, who joined Volkswagen from BMW in 2015, helped the company to overcome an earlier controversy with a 73 billion electric vehicle investment plan.
