Weather Updates: For the time being, ice and snow bid Ireland farewell…

DUBLIN: Snow and ice are bidding farewell to Ireland for the time being, says the Met. The Met Office has predicted that there will be no snow next week, but drivers should exercise caution on all roads.

Last week, overnight temperatures in some parts of the country dropped to -7. The weather was exacerbated by snowfall in many counties. Met advised drivers to exercise extra caution on Monday. Although the snow has melted, the fog has not cleared completely and will most likely persist throughout the day.

Meteorology predicts that the weather will be mostly cloudy. The dry weather is expected to continue. Rain and drizzle are expected to fall heavily in the northwest. The minimum temperature will range from 8 to 11 degrees. There is also a chance of light southerly winds. According to the Met Office, Monday night will be cloudy.

Showers are also expected over northwesterly areas on Tuesday. It will be dry and cloudy elsewhere. The minimum temperature will range between 9 and 11 degrees. The temperature will remain between 6 and 9 degrees throughout the night.

The rain will gradually move from the northwest to the southeast on Wednesday. According to the Met Office, the morning and afternoon will remain sunny and rainy. The maximum temperature will range from 9 to 12 degrees. There is a chance of rain and cold.

Rain and storms are on the way.

Weather experts, including Met Eireann, are warning that there will be more sudden changes in the weather as an unusual atmospheric phenomenon breaks out in the North Atlantic, although the excess snow and extreme cold will be avoided.

In late January and early February, experts predicted “sudden stratospheric warming” (SSW) in the North Atlantic. SSWs are responsible for extreme weather events, including the 2018 Beast from the East.
