46-year-old has been charged in connection with the largest seizure case in Irish history

The 46-year-old was arrested by the Garda in connection with a €4 million seizure.

He was charged today on suspicion of committing a crime related to organised crime.

It is believed to be one of the largest cash seizures operations in Irish history.

Officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) conducted a search in Laois and Kerry on Wednesday as part of an operation suspected of being the criminal activities of a special organised crime group.

In addition to the €4 million, three motor vehicles were also seized by the investigation team.

The accused will be produced before a special sitting of the Fermoy District Court in the evening.
