Lucky but not Lucky enough; Dublin EuroMillions player fall one number short of Jackpot

Saturday was just an ordinary day for a person in Co Dublin, that day was a day of mixed emotion. The lucky man purchased EuroMillions lucky draw ticket on Friday and as the result draw on Saturday matched him five number and a lucky star. That made him grab €176,702.

The played purchased the ticket at the Centra on Enniskerry Road in Stepaside, but he fell one number short of the €17million jackpot.

The €17million jackpot will rollover to an predictable €25million for Tuesday night’s draw.

The National Lottery said that this is the fifth time that an Irish player comes on top within one number of winning the top prize.

6, 22, 29, 40 and 43 were the winning numbers and the lucky star numbers were 4 and 7.

A National Lottery spokesperson said that It’s a fantastic bit of news for a winner in the Stepaside area of Dublin and, again, people were so close to getting the 17th EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland.

This is the fifth ticket holder in the past month to be one lucky star number short of getting a Jackpot.

‘Let’s cross our fingers and hope we get a big EuroMillions winner soon!’ said the spokesman.

A total of 57,000 people in Ireland won prizes in Friday’s draw. Another five-number match win was found from Co Kerry and that person won €20,649. That ticket was bought from a Londis store in Lixnaw.

‘We are asking all our players in Dublin and Kerry to check their tickets very carefully and if you do happen to be one of these two ticket holders please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize,’ the spokesperson said.
