Tragic Bus Accident Claims 21 Lives Near Venice, Italy

Venice: A tragic incident occurred in Venice, Italy, resulting in the loss of 21 lives due to a fire following a bus accident. The ill-fated bus, en route from Venice to Marghera, overturned from a bridge, leading to this devastating accident. The calamity unfolded when the passenger bus collided with a power line adjacent to the roadway.

It is worth noting that the bus was powered by methane fuel. Preliminary findings from authorities suggest that the sudden deterioration in the physical condition of the bus driver played a pivotal role in causing the accident.

Official reports indicate that the vehicle plummeted approximately 30 metres (98 feet) from the bridge before igniting, with the incident occurring at around 7:45 p.m. local time on the preceding day.

Tragically, a significant number of the deceased individuals were Ukrainian tourists, as disclosed by the local fire chief. Furthermore, the passengers onboard encompassed individuals from Germany and Italy.

The bus itself was completely consumed by the flames, making the retrieval of the victims a challenging endeavour, as stated by Skye Barry during an interview with Italia television. Regrettably, among the 21 casualties, the victims included the Italian bus driver and two young children.
