The Department of Health has developed a special midwifery course for general nurses in Ireland

Galway: Saolta Health Group is pleased to announce an enticing opportunity for registered general nurses in Ireland who aspire to embark on a rewarding career in midwifery. The pathway to achieving this goal involves enrolling in the Post-Graduate Higher Diploma in Midwifery Programme, which is now open for applications.

Qualified registered nurses with a passion for transitioning to midwifery are invited to apply for the Higher Diploma in Midwifery through the HSE Sponsorship and Recruitment Programme.

Selection for this 18-month programme will be based on the candidates’ professional learning and nursing experience. The comprehensive program will encompass 26 weeks of practical training and an additional 54 weeks of clinical practice, as detailed by Medbh Hughes, the Post-Registration Midwifery Program Coordinator.
