New Film Studio Brings 2,800 Jobs to Ireland
Dublin: A state-of-the-art film production facility located in Grange Castle Business Park, Dublin, is set to create 2,800 new jobs in Ireland’s film industry. The studio, developed by Lens Media, is designed to compete on a global scale with renowned facilities such as Pinewood Studios in London and Trilith Studios in the United States.
Spanning over 74,000 square meters, the complex comprises 20 separate sets, including six sound studio buildings that house 11 internal sound stages. In addition to the production spaces, the studio features office facilities and public infrastructure, with associated development costs amounting to €8.85 million. The project has been granted planning permission by South Dublin County Council, subject to 24 conditions.
The studio offers a range of sound stages in varying sizes, including 4,000, 6,000, and 10,000 square feet, and has the capacity to host live shows with audiences of up to 600 people. A spokesperson for Lens Media highlighted the studio’s ambition to provide the global film industry with the finest facilities and locations in Europe.
This ambitious project draws comparisons to Shepperton Studios in London, where over 1,000 films have been produced, earning 126 BAFTAs and 81 Oscars. The 56-acre site for the studio was approved for sale by South Dublin County Council three and a half years ago, paving the way for this significant development.
