Dublin: Digital asset management firm Canto is expanding its innovation centre in Cork, creating 50 new roles as it scales up AI and R&D efforts with support from IDA Ireland. The expansion highlights Ireland’s strategic importance in Canto’s global growth, according to CEO Wain Kellum, who praised the country’s strong technical talent and innovation ecosystem.
The new positions—likely in software engineering, QA, marketing, and finance—will support advanced AI research, cloud infrastructure optimisation, and product development, including modernising the user experience and enhancing Canto’s content management platform.
Cork will serve as a key European hub, with plans to collaborate with local universities such as UCC and MTU to foster innovation and build talent pipelines. Canto, which serves major brands like Sony and Domino’s, continues to grow globally, following recent acquisitions of MerlinOne and Image Relay.
