DPD to create 700 permanent jobs all over Ireland

DPD, one of Ireland’s largest courier company, is set to create more than 700 jobs despite the escalating COVID crisis.

Of the 700 jobs, 550 of which will be based across the country, while 150 of which will be based in Athlone. The company has also assured that the entire jobs will be permanent.

The jobs will be created from now till the end of the year.

DPD Ireland’s chief executive Des Travers noted that, the announcement follows a strong year for the company despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar, who has announced new jobs, said the delivery sector is part of a growing economy as the country recovers from the COVID crisis.

The Tánaiste added that the news that, from now until the end of the year, 700 permanent jobs would be generated across the country would be an economic boost and a real vote of confidence in the future.

He said it gives people a lot of hope that they can bounce back from this crisis and that in time they will make a complete economic recovery.
