COVID-19: Three deaths and 939 cases confirmed in Ireland

The department of health has confirmed new 939 cases of COVID-19 today in Ireland. Three further deaths were also reported.

The total number of cases in Ireland rose to 58,067. The death toll from COVID-19 in Ireland remains at 1,885.  

Of the cases confirmed today, 444 are among men and 483 are among women.

66% of the new cases are among people under the age of 45, and the median age of people with a case notified is 32.

The highest number of cases was registered in Dublin with 255 cases.  

There have been 96 cases confirmed in Cork, 61 in Meath, 53 in Galway and 51 in Donegal, while the remaining 439 cases are spread across 21 counties.

344 patients are currently hospitalised with COVID-19 with 39 patients with Covid-19 are in ICU.

 The latest 14-day incidence rates show that Cavan still has the highest rate in Ireland, with 967.5 cases per 100,000 people.
