Amazon Employee Convicted of Sexual Assault on Dublin-Bound Bus

Dublin: An Amazon software developer has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman on a Citylink bus to Dublin.
Kishor Karunakaran, 44, of Dublin 4, denied the allegation and claimed he was asleep for the journey on September 13, 2024, after travelling to Galway for dinner.

Dublin District Court heard the woman felt repeated touching from behind before seeing a hand and smartwatch between the seats. She later moved seats and photographed the accused.

Karunakaran insisted he slept throughout the trip and suggested he may have been mistaken for someone else. His defence argued there were no witnesses and no CCTV due to a system malfunction.

Judge John Hughes dismissed the accused’s account and ruled the woman’s evidence credible.
