Bryoni Natalie Govender to represent South Africa in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant

Bryoni Natalie Govender, the first runner-up in Miss South Africa 2023, has been confirmed to represent South Africa in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant.

Miss South Africa 2023 winner Natasha Joubert finished second behind the 26-year-old lawyer from Kempton Park in Gauteng at the national pageant held on Sunday in Pretoria.

Natasha is likely to compete in Miss Supranational 2024 because she has previously competed in Miss Universe 2020 and the rules prohibit her from competing again.

Following the competition, the new Miss Universe South Africa took to social media to say, “I am so incredibly proud of myself.” Thank you, South Africa, for all of your love and support.”

During the star-studded 65th Miss South Africa final, seven equally gorgeous, intellectual, and powerful women competed for the Mohana crown.

“My heart is still bursting with pride,” Bryoni added.

Miss Universe 2023 will be held in El Salvador on November 18. At the conclusion of the event, reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States will crown her successor.
