€958,800 worth Drugs seized by Gardaí along with firearms and ammunition

In a planned search carried out by Gardaí and the Meath Divisional Drugs Unit, €1m worth of drugs and half a million euro in cash along with firearms and ammunition were found.  

The search was carried out yesterday around a business premises in Rathfeigh. A man in his early 40’s was found and arrested at the scene. Currently he is being held at Ashbourne Garda Station.

Since it was a serious move, the Gardai team were backed up by the Armed Support Unit, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Garda Dog Unit.

Suspected MDMA tablets and powder worth €570,000 and €156,000 were found during the operation along with €140,800 worth of suspected cocaine.

Suspected cannabis herd worth €80,000 and 6,000 Xanax tablets which costs around €12,000 were also seized.

The authorities believe that the seized drugs will have an estimated value of €958,800 and along with the drugs, cash to the value of €489,120 was also seized.

In the mission the Gardaí were able to find a semi-automatic handgun (Glock 9mm), two Walter hang guns, two silencers and 75 rounds of 9mm Luger and Fiocci ammunition. These will be soon sent for analysis to the ballistics unit.
