“Heavy Rain Forecasted Across Ireland for the Upcoming Week”

Dublin: Anticipating continuous rain throughout the week, multiple counties will experience wet conditions. The Met Office has issued a warning of heavy rain in Connacht and Munster, extending from Sunday night into Monday morning. Furthermore, flood alerts have been reissued for areas in County Cork already impacted by flooding.

Meteorological experts at Met Éireann attribute this rainfall to unanticipated weather shifts, coinciding with elevated sea temperatures around Ireland. The Met Office notes that this rain is driven by warm, moisture-laden air from the tropics, creating a temperature contrast across the Irish peninsula.

Friday witnessed significant rainfall, with North County Dublin’s Lusk receiving 73mm of rain, a quantity comparable to Cork’s monthly average, while Balbriggan, Skerries, Ashbourne, Phoenix Park station, and Arklow in Wicklow also experienced substantial precipitation.
