Hitman made history despite not playing against Australia

Despite not playing in the ODI series against Australia, Indian opener Rohit Sharma made history.

For the eighth year in a row, ‘Hitman’ holds the highest ODI score by an Indian. Rohit’s highest score was 119 against Australia in Bangalore earlier this year.

Rohit topped the list with a score of 209 in 2013, 264 in 2014, 150 in 2015, 171 in 2016, 208 in 2017, 152 in 2018, 159 in 2019 and 119 in 2020.

Rohit missed the ODI series against Australia due to a leg injury sustained during the IPL. He’s going to miss the T20 series as well.  The BCCI will assess Rohit’s fitness on December 11.

It is not yet clear if Rohit will be in the Test Series starting on December 17 in Adelaide. After arriving in Australia, he must complete a 14-day mandatory quarantine.

Meanwhile, no Indian batsman scored a century in the ODI series against Australia. Hardik Pandya’s 92 in the final ODI in Canberra was the highest score by an Indian batsman in the series. Although India won the last ODI by 13 runs, Aaron Finch and team won the series (2-1).
