Holy Thursday !

Every year on the Thursday before Easter, Christians observe Maundy Thursday, which recalls the Last Supper. In certain traditions, it is also known as Holy Thursday, Covenant Thursday, or the Thursday of Mysteries.

Maundy refers to Jesus’ foot-washing of the apostles prior to the Last Supper. Christians all throughout the world, particularly Catholics, commemorate the day with a special service and prayers.

The word “Maundy” is an Anglo-French word derived from the Latin “mandatum,” which means “commandment.”
