Indoor drive-through Covid-19 testing centre is now available in Limerick

A new indoor drive-through Covid-19 testing centre is now available in East Point Retail park on the Ballysimon Road, Limerick.

The new facility is capable of carrying out 1,000 tests a day and the HSE said that this is a way to improve accessibility for testing in local communities.

From 8am-8pm daily, people referred for testing by their GPs can make use of the facility.It will have ten bays and can carry out up to 1,000 tests a day if demand requires.

There were two testing locations previously on the Gaelic Grounds and at the St Joseph’s Hospital Campus, both of these have now been closed.

Maria Bridgeman, HSE Mid West Community Healthcare Chief Officer said that the new facility is an indoor testing center and this one is much more suitable for the difficult weather during this period.
