Ireland is a popular destination for international job seekers
Dublin: Ireland has become one of the most popular countries for international job seekers, a study has found.
As per the June figures, this represents 11% of all foreigners looking for work in Ireland.
It is ranked 14th in the world in terms of the global proportion of job seekers in another country. This is the first time that Ireland has become one of the top 14 preferred countries by job seekers. Only after the COVID period did more foreigners begin to arrive in search of Ireland.
The statistics were released by the job website Indeed.
The top three countries preferred by job seekers worldwide are Luxembourg, Oman, and Switzerland.
Ireland is ranked third among the most attractive EU countries for international job seekers. According to the study, Ireland is one of the top ten countries in the world for Ukrainians looking for work abroad.
Foreigners are most interested in jobs in software administration, personal care, and health care in Ireland.
Although there are still many foreigners looking for work in the EU, the number of job seekers in English-speaking countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia is lower.
Indeed EMEA director of economic research Pawel Adrjan said the findings suggest that job seekers are more likely to click on job postings in a given country when expats are looking for work and have a linguistic or geographic presence of people from their home country.
