Irish Cities Shine in Global Student Rankings: Galway Ranks 7th Worldwide for 2023
Three Irish cities have secured spots in the top 50 global locations for students, according to rankings compiled by TheCampusAdvisor.com. Galway stands out by claiming the 7th position, emerging as the sole Irish city within the top 10. With an impressive score of 4.47 out of five, Galway excelled in the ‘student friendliness’ category and secured the fourth spot for its vibrant nightlife.
Cork secured the 22nd spot with a commendable rating of 4.24 out of five, while Dublin landed at the 38th position, scoring 3.96 out of five.
Melbourne in Australia clinched the title of the best student city globally for 2023, with Berlin (Germany), Newcastle (UK), Brno (Czech Republic), and Seoul (South Korea) rounding out the top five.
Preceding Galway in the rankings were Vienna (Austria) at sixth place, followed by Warsaw (Poland) in eighth, with Montreal (Canada) and Singapore completing the top 10. The research considered various factors, including student friendliness, nightlife, cost of living, public transport, amenities, and safety.
Vilnius (Lithuania) earned the top spot for the cost of living, Newcastle excelled in nightlife, Berlin ranked highest for public transport, Melbourne led in amenities, and Singapore stood out for safety.
