Mild and Breezy St Patrick’s Day as Ireland Set for Mostly Dry Week

Dublin: Met Éireann has forecast a mild, breezy and largely dry St Patrick’s Day across Ireland, with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, particularly along Atlantic coastal counties.

Daytime temperatures on St. Patrick’s Day are expected to range between 11°C and 15°C, with moderate south-westerly winds contributing to slightly warmer conditions.

Improving Conditions Midweek

Weather conditions are set to improve as the week progresses, with generally dry and calm weather expected across much of the country from midweek onwards.

Tuesday night will be mostly dry, although patchy fog and light drizzle may develop in some areas. Overnight temperatures will range from 2°C to 9°C, with clearer and cooler conditions in western coastal regions.

Bright and Mild Midweek Weather

On Wednesday, a mix of sunny spells and isolated light showers is expected. Early morning fog will gradually clear, leading to a largely bright day. Temperatures will range from 11°C to 16°C, with the coolest conditions likely in parts of Leinster and southern Munster.

Warmest Day Expected on Thursday

Thursday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures reaching between 12°C and 18°C under mostly dry conditions. Moderate easterly winds are expected, with a slight chill in coastal areas. Night-time temperatures will drop to between 1°C and 4°C.

Dry End to the Week Before Cooler Weekend

Friday will remain generally dry with light winds, sunshine and occasional mist or fog, and temperatures between 12°C and 17°C, with slightly warmer conditions possible in the west.

However, forecasters say the weekend is likely to turn cooler, with dry conditions continuing but temperatures dropping as colder air moves in.
