Negative news for IPL fans; players tested Positive for Covid-19

IPL is one of the most awaiting sporting events of India, it is a celebration of the short format games. Right from the start till the very end the energy of the team as well as the fans will be on the top gear.

IPL 2020 was previously postponed because of the Covid outbreak. Considering the situation in India the authorities changed the venue also. UAE is now all set to host this year’s Indian Premier League from the mid of September.

As per the covid protocol of Dubai, the players, support staff and all other related to the tournament arriving from different places will have to undergo a mandatory, 6 days quarantine. There will be strict Covid-19 tests also on the days 1, 3 and 5 of their quarantine periods.

Some of the teams have reached Dubai and also cleared the procedures.

But on August 28 a shocking news was out related to the Chennai Super Kings. As per the reports, multiple players from the team have tested positive for Covid-19. With the exact numbers yet to be announced, this news is creating concerns regarding this year’s IPL.

CSK landed in Dubai on August 21 and went for the mandatory 6-day quarantine. Their training sessions were about to start on Friday, August 28, 2020. But due to the present situation the teams quarantine period might get extended.

It is mandatory that every player should be test negative in all three stages to attend the practice sessions.

As there are still teams and players to arrive, their test results will be a huge mater of concern too.

The Chennai team had a five-day training camp in Chennai prior to the UAE trip. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla and Shardul Thakur were all part of the camp, and the bowling coach was L Balaji.
