Snowfall Forecast in Ireland Ahead of Christmas, Says Met Éireann
Dublin: According to the latest projections from WX Charts, significant snowfall is anticipated across Ireland on December 21 and 22, just days before Christmas. The forecasts, released by Met Éireann, suggest that the country may experience up to 48 hours of continuous snowfall during this period.
However, temperatures are expected to climb significantly by Christmas Day, reaching up to 14°C, casting doubt on the possibility of a traditional “white Christmas.” Initial predictions had suggested a snow-covered holiday, but the latest updates indicate otherwise.
Meanwhile, strong winds have been reported across parts of Ireland since early this morning. While no official weather warnings have been issued for the Republic of Ireland, Met Éireann has cautioned about gusts of up to 60 mph in Northern Ireland. A yellow wind warning is in effect from 3 p.m. on Tuesday and is set to remain active until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
