Super Comeback by the Super Kings

After loosing three games in a row, the all time favorite IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings made a fantastic comeback on 4th October against Kings XI Punjab.

The men in yellow managed to fetch the victory by 10 wickets.

Punjab elected to bat first and hosted a total of 178 with the loss of four wickets.

Captain Lokesh Rahul scored 63 off 52 balls and became the leading run getter of Dream 11 IPL 2020. Mayank Agarwal (26), Mandeep Singh (27), Nicholas Pooran (33), Maxwell (11) and Sarfaraz Kahan (14) where the other batsman who helped Punjab to host a total of 178.

While SN Thakur picked up two wickets, Ravindra Jadeja and Piyush Chawala picked up one wicket each.

CSK walked into Dubai for the 18th game of Dream 11 IPL with a bleeding heart. The top order of their batting line up was their greatest concerns in the past few matches.

But Sunday’s one was totally a different game by the CSK batsman. Both Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis managed to take CSK over the winning runs without damaging their partnership.

The opening combo scored unbeaten 181 runs and won the match for CSK. KXIP bowlers failed to break the opening partnership and that cost them the game.

It was also the second highest opening partnership in 10 wicket wins in IPL. In 2017 Gautham Gambhir and Chris Lynn scored unbeaten 184 for KKR against Gujarat Lions and this comes first in the list.

“Nice to bat like that tonight. Felt something slightly off earlier in the tournament, technical thing. Bit more intent on the front leg, getting my weight through the ball. We compliment each other well. He’s a great guy, love batting with him.” Said Shane Watson during the presentation ceremony.

“Did the small things right. Believed in the process. Were looking for the kind of start today. That’s where experience counts. It’s not about being more aggressive. Watson was looking good in the nets. But what you want is to replicate that. It was just a matter of time that he gets going.” said the winning captain MS Dhoni.
