Three more ships in service from Ireland to Spain next year

Dublin: Three more ships will be in service from Ireland to Spain next year. Brittany Ferries will begin direct ferry service in 2024. The schedule will be available soon. French timetables for 2024 will also be available soon, Brittany said.

During the winter, Brittany ferries operate between Rosslare, Bilbao, and Santander. The Ireland-Spain sailing is a smash hit, according to Brittany, with reservations up 100 percent this year.

Twice a week throughout the year

The year-round service will connect Rosslare and Bilbao in Spain’s Basque Country twice a week. Each journey will take approximately 30 hours. Brittany stated that reserve seats for two people will be available in summer 2023 for a one-way fare of €451 per car.

Due to port renovations in Bilbao, the main destination will be moved to the Cantabrian capital of Santander from November 7 to March 25, 2024, according to Brittany.

The Ireland-Spain ferry link became operational in November 2022. Salamanca, which has 321 cabins, currently operates the service. The ship has a capacity of 1,015 passengers.

Next year, Santona and Galicia will be added.

In 2024, the modern ships Santona and Galicia will also make voyages to Spain. Galicia will have the same sailing capacity as Salamanca beginning in 2020. There are 421 cabins in total. Santona, launched in 2022, is an LNG-flexer ship with 341 cabins.

All three ships can carry cars, passengers, motorhomes, and bikes in addition to cargo. Passengers will be able to dine on fine French and Spanish cuisine. Duty-free shopping and family bars will also be available. A limited number of pet-friendly cabins are also available.
