Trump supporter’s violent protest, a black chapter in American democratic history

Washington: Trump supporters broke down barricades into the Capitol, the building of the U.S. House of Representatives, and marched through a black chapter in American democratic history. They were chanting slogans in protest, and both houses of Congress were shut down and members evacuated.

Both houses of Congress met to approve the victory of President-elect Joe Biden. Thousands of Trump supporters stormed the parliament building.

One of Trump supporters was shot during the incident. Their condition is reported to be serious.

Dramatic events take place at eight o’clock Irish time, the protestants came out chanting slogans and asking the house not to consider Biden’s victory.

Trump reiterated his disapproval of Biden’s victory and called on protesters to keep their calm. He said no one could cover up the protests.

The dramatic turn of events came after Trump’s request that Biden’s victory not be accepted in Congress was rejected by Vice President and Republican leader Mike Pence in the Senate.
