US President Joe Biden to Ireland for a four-day visit

Dublin: A four-day visit to Ireland by US President Joe Biden has been confirmed. The visit will take place between April 11 and 14, according to the White House. During his visit, Joe Biden will address a joint parliamentary committee meeting of TDs and Senators on April 13. Speaker Ceann Comhairle and Senate President Jerry Buttimer have officially invited Biden.

After Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and John F. Kennedy, Biden will be the fourth to address the Dail and the Senate. Biden is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Leo Varadkar and President Michael D. Higgins. The information was received earlier that it was a five-day visit. However, White House press secretary Karin Jean- Pierre confirmed that it will now be four days.

Biden will also visit Louth, Mayo, and Belfast in addition to Dublin. He is also expected to address a public meeting in the western counties. He is expected to visit Belfast on Tuesday, then Louth, then Dublin on Wednesday, and Mayo on Thursday. He will address a public meeting outside St. Muredach’s Cathedral in Ballina, Mayo.

Prime Minister Leo Varadkar expressed his pleasure at the US President’s visit. Biden has always been a friend of Ireland. The Prime Minister recalled how Biden’s assistance was extremely helpful in dealing with Brexit issues.

Biden has previously made it clear that as the Good Friday anniversary rolls around, we want to make sure we are moving forward. Deputy Prime Minister Micheal Martin said that Biden is a close friend of Ireland. Martin also clarified that Biden has a special interest in Northern Ireland.

The 10th of April marks the 25th anniversary of Good Friday. Various events are being held across the republic as part of this. In preparation for Biden’s visit, Garda members’ vacations and other activities were restricted. Officials from the US State Department visited Ireland to hold talks with hoteliers and members of An Garda Síochána.
