DUBLIN: The success of the walk-in vaccination centres that opened across the country over the Bank Holiday weekend has encouraged the Health Service Executive to reopen some of them this weekend. More than 30,000 people availed of walk-in clinics, the majority of them were youngsters.
The non-appointment vaccination facility is set up at designated centres at specified times. This facility is for those over 16 years of age who are waiting for the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
There is no need to register online before visiting one of these sites, but you must provide a Personal Public Service (PPS) number, phone number, email address, and photo ID, which contains your date of birth. People who do not have a PPS number can still be vaccinated if they provide proof of address.
People who have already registered online and are waiting an appointment for their first dose can also go to a walk-in facility.
You will be given the first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Those who receive their first dose at these centres will receive a text message later with information on where they can receive their second dose.
