World population will hit a peak of 8 billion

According to the United Nations, the world population will reach 8 billion on November 15, 2022. The current population is 7,999,959,816 people, and World Population Prospects 2022 predicts that India will overtake China as the world’s most populated country by 2023.

On World Population Day, the study was issued. Furthermore, the world population is expected to peak in the 2080s at roughly 10.4 billion people.

According to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, “This year’s World Population Day occurs amid a milestone year in which we expect the birth of the world’s eighth billionth person”. “This is a time to celebrate our differences, recognise our shared humanity, and marvel at medical advances that have increased lifespans and substantially decreased maternal and infant mortality rates.”

“At the same time, it is a reminder of our shared obligation to care for our planet, as well as a pause to reflect on where we still fall short of our pledges to one another,” he added.

According to the United Nations, global population growth has slowed to its smallest rate since 1950, and it is expected to fall to less than 1% by 2020. According to the UN, the world population could grow to about 8.5 billion in 2030 and 9.7 billion in 2050.

According to the UN, the world population will reach 10.4 billion by the 2080s and will remain there until 2100.
