Indoor hospitality services will resume in Ireland on Monday, July 26th
DUBLIN: The Cabinet has agreed to allow indoor service in pubs and restaurants to resume from Monday, July 26 for people who have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19.
President Michael D Higgins signed the legislation into law. Under the new guidelines, customers will have no time limit and bars and restaurants can be open until 11:30 pm.
The government is developing an app that would verify people’s vaccination certificates before they enter pubs and restaurants.
There should be a distance of one metre between each table. Six people are allowed to sit at each table.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin said the vaccination program is progressing well. He urged people to be cautious in the coming weeks. “We have all got to adhere to the guidelines no matter how tired we are of this pandemic,” Mr. Martin added.
The government and businesses are hopeful that the reopening of indoor hospitality would be effective since Ireland has a higher awareness of COVID-19 than other nations.
The hospitality industry will begin operations on Monday, July 26, strictly adhering to the guidelines.
